When importing driver or truck data, please ensure the Excel file follows the correct format to avoid errors. Here's what you need to keep in mind:
General Guidelines
Data should start from Column A, Row 1.
No duplicate entries are allowed for the following:
For Drivers: CDL numbers and emails must be unique.
For Trucks: VIN, Unit No., and Plate No. must all be unique.
Driver Import Requirements
When importing drivers into the system, please ensure the following conditions are met to avoid any errors:
Required Fields
First Name
Last Name
Email
These three fields must be filled in for each driver. If there's a duplication in Email it'll give an error.
Important Selection
You must select the MC Number and Driver Type from the top of the import screen.
If these are not selected, the system will not allow the import and will return an error.
Truck Import Requirements
To successfully import truck data, the following fields are required and must be filled in for each entry:
Make
Model
Year
VIN
Plate Number
Unit Number
Any missing values in these fields will result in an import error.
Import errors typically occur due to the following reasons:
Duplicate values in VIN, Unit No., or Plate No.
Missing required fields — all fields must be filled.
VIN must be a unique 12–14 digit number and cannot be duplicated.
Unit No. and Plate No. must also be unique and non-empty.
Since these values are not unique and duplicated it gives an error in the system.
This show's where exactly the duplication happened.
Once everything is checked out and corrected it'll import the trucks successfully.
Date Format
Dates must follow the format: Year/Month/Date (YYYY/MM/DD)
First select the date column
The go to Format>Numbers>Custom Date & Time
Then select the second option showing Year/Month/Date format and click Apply.
By ensuring your file meets these conditions, the system will be able to import your driver and truck data correctly without any issues.
