Datatruck's AI Dispatcher connects to multiple load boards, including DAT, directly from your account. This article walks through the full setup process: requesting DAT service account credentials, configuring the integration, and connecting dispatcher seats.

Prerequisites

Before starting, confirm the following:

  • You have an active Datatruck account with AI Dispatcher enabled.
  • You have an existing DAT account.
  • The email used for the DAT service account is not already associated with an existing DAT user.

Step 1: Request DAT Service Account Credentials

The DAT integration requires a dedicated service account — this is separate from your standard DAT login. You must request this from DAT Technical Support before setting anything up in Datatruck.

Send an email to techsupportteamleads@dat.com with the following information:

  • Customer Name
  • Customer Main Contact
  • Unique Identifier (MC # or address)
  • Integration Service and Desired Interface: REST API
  • Service Account Email

Important: The service account credentials you receive are used exclusively for the AI Dispatcher integration. Do not use your regular DAT login credentials for this step.

Step 2: Create Your Service Account Password

Once DAT processes your request, you will receive a password reset email.

  1. Open the password reset email from DAT.
  2. Follow the instructions to set a password for the service account.
  3. Make sure the email address used is not already tied to an existing DAT user.

Example:

Save these credentials as you will need them in the next step.

Step 3: Connect DAT to AI Dispatcher

  1. Log in to AI Dispatcher in your Datatruck account.
  2. Locate the DAT module and click Connect.
  3. Enter the service account username and password created in Step 2.
  4. Click Submit.

The DAT Loadboard is now connected at the account level.

Step 4: Connect Individual Dispatcher Seats

Each dispatcher who will use the DAT Loadboard through AI Dispatcher needs to be linked individually.

  • Go to AI Dispatcher Settings.
  • Navigate to Users and click Add Dispatcher.
  • Enter the dispatcher's details and click Save.
  • Select the dispatcher from the list.
  • Click Connect.
  • When prompted, enter that dispatcher's regular DAT username and password.
  • Repeat for each additional dispatcher.

Note: This step links an existing DAT dispatcher seat to AI Dispatcher. It does not create a new DAT seat or incur additional DAT charges.

Step 5: Verify the Connection

  1. Navigate to the Loadboard section in AI Dispatcher.
  2. Confirm that your connected dispatchers appear in the top-right corner.
  3. You are now ready to search for loads.

Troubleshooting

  • Did not receive a password reset email from DAT? Check your spam folder or follow up with DAT Technical Support at techsupportteamleads@dat.com.
  • Dispatcher not appearing after connecting? Ensure their DAT credentials were entered correctly and that their DAT seat is active.
  • Integration not working after setup? Contact Datatruck Support at support@datatruck.io.

AI Dispatcher allows you to connect to multiple load boards through Datatruck with just a click. This article explains how to connect the DAT Loadboard to AI Dispatcher using your Datatruck account.
