Creating maintenance tasks in Datatruck helps you stay on top of your fleet’s upkeep, whether it’s for trucks or trailers. You can easily schedule inspections, repairs, renewals, or any other service related activities, assigning them to the right team members and keeping your operations running smoothly.

Steps to Create a Truck Task:

  1. Go to the Maintenance Section

From the left-hand, navigate to Maintenance, then click the Create Task button.

You’ll be prompted to choose whether you’re creating a task for a Truck or Trailer.

  2. Select Asset Type: Truck or Trailer
You’ll be taken to the task creation screen. Fill in the following fields:

    • Truck/Trailer: Select the specific vehicle from the dropdown.

    • Type: Choose the type of task (e.g., Repair, Inspection, etc.).

    • Assignee: Select who will handle this task.

    • Procedure Name: Choose from predefined procedures like Brake Issue, Oil Change, or Body Damage.

    • Note: Add any relevant notes or instructions.

    • Next Expiry Date: Set a due date if the task has an expiry or needs to recur.

    • Status: Leave it as default or change it if needed.

    • Comments/Attachments: Optionally, add notes or files related to the task.

  3. Save the Task
Once all details are filled, click Create Task in the upper-right corner.

After saving, the new task will appear under the To-Do List in the Tasks tab. You can also find it directly in the respective truck or trailer’s profile.

  4. Mark It As Done/Archived:
If the the task has been completed or you wish to archive you can do that from the Actions column. Click either on tick-mark or the archive option. This way the To-do-list will stay catch up  and will not clutter. You can view the completed or archived tasks from the above sections.
