In certain situations, driver salary settlements may result in a negative balance. Since drivers are not required to reimburse this amount, we have implemented a solution to address such cases. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Make The Settlement Unposted:

  • First, we need to make sure that the settlement is "Un-Posted".

  • For that, please open the settlement, and click on the 3-dots from the top-right corner.

  • Next, please click on "Undo".

Step 2: Add The Salary Adjustment

This driver has a negative balance of ($150), meaning no payment is due to them.

However, this also affects the accuracy of calculations in the salary batch:

We cannot allow a negative balance to interfere with calculations, as we cannot pay back for the negative.

To resolve this issue, please navigate to the driver's salary settlement and balance section, then select the "Salary Adjustment Balance" item:

Add salary adjustment amount, leave a relevant note and press +Add. In our case, $150:

Once it is added, the driver settlement becomes zero:

As the amount will be shown in other pay:

and the batch will also show the correct amount:

Besides, $150 will be added to the driver balances for next week's calculation:

Next week, when you come to calculate the salary of the this driver, you can deduct from his salary in this manner:

It will be shown as deduction in the salary settlement:

and Driver Salary adjustment balance will also balance out:

How To Post The Settlement If The Balance Is Negative:

  • Should you click on Post, even if you haven't added the Salary Adjustment yet, a window should pop up.

You would need to click on "Yes" so this amount would be charged automatically in the next settlement.

By following this guide, you would have successfully made the negative net pay of your driver 0 instead.
