Creating credit memos in Datatruck is fast and intuitive, whether you're adjusting a customer invoice or correcting a vendor bill. By following the steps above, you can maintain precise records and ensure your accounting data is always accurate.
Credit Memos for Customer Invoices
1. Open the Invoice
Go to Accounting > Invoice and select the invoice.
2. Add a Credit Memo
Scroll to the Credit Memos section and click Add Credit Memo.
3. Enter Details
Credited To Options
Dispatcher: Use this when the credit is due to a dispatch entry mistake or incorrect load information.
Company: For general billing adjustments or policy-related corrections.
Driver: Applies when the credit impacts the driver’s settlement (e.g., pay adjustments, detention, layover).
Fill in the following fields:
Amount
Date
Reason
Optional: Notes or attachments
4. Save
The credit memo will appear under the invoice, and the Balance Due updates automatically.
Credit Memos for Vendor Bills
1. Open the Bill
Go to Accounting > Bills > Bills Management and choose the bill.
2. Add a Credit Memo
In the Credit Memos section, click Add Credit Memo.
