Creating a Claim in Datatruck helps you track incidents and related details for drivers, trucks, and loads. Follow the steps below to create and manage a claim:
1. Go to Safety
From the dashboard, click on Safety.
2. Create a Safety Task
Click the Create Safety Task button in the top-right corner.
From the dropdown, select Create task or Upload Using TruckGPT.
3. Fill Out Task Details
A new window will appear where you can enter the claim information:
MC Number – Select the carrier from the list.
Type – Choose Accident / Claim.
Driver – Assign the driver involved.
Date – Enter the date of the incident.
Truck / Trailer – Select the equipment if applicable.
Location, City, State – Fill in details about where the incident occurred.
Notes – Add any additional information.
4. Specify the Claim
At the bottom of the form, under Accident / Claim, select Claim.
Additional fields such as Lawyer, Towing, Post Accident Drug Test, Closed Date can be updated if relevant.
5. Save the Claim
Once all details are filled out, save the task.
The claim will now appear in your Safety tasks list.
You can also view all claims under the Claims tab for easy access.
Click on Approve.
