How To Create Claims

Creating a Claim in Datatruck helps you track incidents and related details for drivers, trucks, and loads. Follow the steps below to create and manage a claim:

 

1. Go to Safety

  • From the dashboard, click on Safety.
     

2. Create a Safety Task

  • Click the Create Safety Task button in the top-right corner.

  • From the dropdown, select Create task or Upload Using TruckGPT.


3. Fill Out Task Details

A new window will appear where you can enter the claim information:

  • MC Number – Select the carrier from the list.

  • Type – Choose Accident / Claim.

  • Driver – Assign the driver involved.

  • Date – Enter the date of the incident.

  • Truck / Trailer – Select the equipment if applicable.

  • Location, City, State – Fill in details about where the incident occurred.

  • Notes – Add any additional information.

 

4. Specify the Claim

  • At the bottom of the form, under Accident / Claim, select Claim.

  • Additional fields such as Lawyer, Towing, Post Accident Drug Test, Closed Date can be updated if relevant.
     


 

5. Save the Claim

  • Once all details are filled out, save the task.

  • The claim will now appear in your Safety tasks list.

  • You can also view all claims under the Claims tab for easy access. 

  • Click on Approve.
