When creating a new Safety Task in Datatruck, selecting the correct task type is important for accurate tracking, compliance, and record keeping. The “Type” dropdown helps you categorize the task based on what it's for, whether it's an inspection, a citation, or a physical exam.



Safety Task Types Explained

Alcohol Test
Used to record or schedule an alcohol screening for a driver.

Accident / Claim
Log any accidents involving a truck or driver, including insurance claims.

Inspection
Track vehicle inspections, such as DOT inspections, safety checks, or internal reviews.

Annual Review
Keep a record of yearly performance reviews or safety evaluations for drivers.

Driver License Issue and Expiration Date
Set reminders or log any issues related to driver’s license validity or renewals.

Drug Test
Document drug tests completed or required for compliance purposes.

Pay Raise
Track any pay changes or compensation updates for a driver.

Physical Exam
Log medical or physical exams that drivers need to stay certified.

Citation
Used to record any traffic or legal citations received.

Transportation Worker ID
Log information related to TWIC cards or other official identification for transport workers.

Incident
Capture general incidents that don’t fall under accidents or violations for example, safety hazards or near-misses.

Meetings
Track safety training, meetings, or seminars attended by drivers.

Other Types
If the task doesn’t match any category above, select this and describe it in the notes.

Violation
Record violations such as logbook errors, HOS (Hours of Service) issues, or DOT non-compliance.
