To maintain clean, consistent customer records and avoid workflow issues, Datatruck allows you to require a unique Customer ID or MC number when creating new customers. Enabling this setting helps prevent accidental duplicates that can lead to discrepancies, reporting errors, confusion in invoices. 

How to Turn On the Customer ID Requirement

To enforce uniqueness and prevent duplicates:

• Go to Settings from your Datatruck web app.
• Click on Default Configurations.
• Scroll down to the option:
  "Customer ID is required while creating New Customer"
• Toggle this setting ON.

• Every new customer must have a unique Customer ID or MC number.
• If a user tries to enter a duplicate, the system will display an error and block the entry.
