The Profit by Unit report shows how much revenue, cost, and gross income each truck generated over a selected period. It helps you identify which units are performing well, which are underperforming, and what your gross margin looks like per truck.
Where: Reports → Profit Reports → Profit by Unit
How to Run the Report
- Go to Dashboard → Profit Reports
- Click the Profit by Unit tab
- Set the Period — enter a date range
- Select the Time Type — choose between Factual Time (based on actual delivery date) or another time reference
- Select the Load Status — e.g., Delivery or Pickup.
- Click Apply
What the Report Shows
Each row represents one truck unit for the selected period:
- Unit Number — the truck identifier; click it to drill into that unit's individual trips
- Total Trips Count — number of trips completed in the period
- Total Miles — loaded miles driven
- Empty Miles — miles driven without a load
- Revenue — total amount invoiced for loads on this unit
- Revenue per Mile — revenue divided by total miles
- Total Cost — all expenses applied to this unit (fuel, tolls, driver pay, etc.)
- Gross Income — Revenue minus Total Cost
- Gross Margin % — Gross Income as a percentage of Revenue; shown as a bar for quick visual comparison
The Total row at the bottom summarizes all units for the period.
