Some brokers ask carriers to reposition an empty trailer rather than deliver a load. Since there's no delivery, drivers won't have a paper proof of delivery, but many brokers still require some form of POD for their invoice package. Datatruck gives you two ways to satisfy that requirement.
Option 1: Generate an Electronic Proof of Delivery (e-POD)
Datatruck can generate a proof of delivery automatically for empty trailer moves.
Open the load and go to the Documents tab (or scroll down on the load view to Documents).
Select Proof of Delivery.
Click Create e-Proof of Delivery.
Datatruck will generate the electronic POD for the load automatically.
Option 2: Upload Empty Trailer Drop-Off Photos
If you'd rather use photo evidence, upload pictures of the empty trailer at drop-off. Datatruck will automatically convert these into a PDF proof of delivery, which is included in the invoice package sent to the broker.
Which Option Should You Use?
Use the e-POD if you just need a quick, system-generated record with no photo evidence required.
Use drop-off photos if the broker prefers visual confirmation that the trailer was dropped empty at the correct location.
