Splitting a trip allows you to divide a single load between two drivers. This is useful when a driver can only complete part of the route and another driver needs to take over. When a trip is split, the driver gross is also divided between the two drivers based on the amount assigned during the split.
Before You Begin
The load status must not be Delivered, Invoiced, or Paid.
If the load is in one of those statuses, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the load and select Undo to revert it before proceeding.
Step 1: Open the Load and Click Split
Go to Load Management and click on the Load ID to open the load.
Locate the trip and click the Split icon next to it.
Step 2: Configure the Split
Select the Pickup row as the split point — you are splitting the trip after the pickup.
Enter the handoff location where the first driver will drop off and the second driver will pick up.
Set the drop-off date and time for the first driver.
Set the pick-up date and time for the second driver.
Select Auto calculate for the driver gross to be calculated automatically.
Click Next.
Step 3: Assign the Second Driver
From the driver list, select the driver who will take over the second portion of the trip.
You can search by name or scroll to find the driver.
Check the box next to their name and click Submit.
You'll see that two trips are not created for the same load.
