The first thing you need to do after you open the dashboard.datatruck.io website is click on the “HR-Management” icon on the navigation side-bar on the left.

After you go to the “HR-management” interface “Active Drivers” tab click on the first or last name of the driver you want to assign a co-driver to.

In the “Driver Profile” interface click on the “Yes” checkbox to switch a driver from solo-driver to a team-drive in the “Team Driver” field

After you switch there should display the “Driver” options field.

You may also enter a driver’s name if you already have added his profile to the platform (NOTE: Both driver’s MC number should be same), once you choose a driver click on the “Save” button on the top right corner

Conclusion

Assigning a co-driver involves careful consideration of regulatory compliance, driver compatibility, and operational efficiency. By ensuring that both the primary driver and potential co-drivers share the same MC number, trucking companies can maintain compliance with FMCSA regulations and ensure seamless operations. This process not only helps in meeting legal requirements but also enhances overall productivity and driver satisfaction.
